January 22 - 26, 2024 will mark the sixth annual National Gun Violence Survivors Week — a time when we come together to share and amplify the stories and voices of gun violence survivors who live with the impact of gun violence every day of the year. Every day, 120 people in America are shot and killed, more than 200 are shot and wounded, and countless others are impacted by gun violence. This year, National Gun Violence Survivors Week will be highlighting the role of gun violence survivors as changemakers who are leading efforts to end gun violence by building, strengthening and unifying their communities. Throughout the week, we’ll be uplifting the work of survivors across the country and lived experiences with gun violence to highlight the ripple effect of trauma caused by gun violence and the collective action these changemakers are taking to fortify their communities and move towards healing.
